Knee Replacement.
Stryker Mako robotic-assisted total & partial knee replacement with rapid-recovery protocols.
About this procedure
Dr Mahantesh Patil specialises in Stryker Mako robotic-assisted knee replacement — a knee arthroplasty that resurfaces the worn, arthritic surfaces of the knee with smooth, durable implants to relieve pain and restore movement. Robotic planning guides precise, soft-tissue–conscious bone preparation and implant alignment.
It is considered when joint damage from osteoarthritis or injury limits daily life and non-surgical measures no longer help. Dr Mahantesh Patil performs both total and partial (uni-compartmental) knee replacement, choosing the approach that preserves as much healthy bone and ligament as possible.

Procedure & technique
Surgery is planned from weight-bearing X-rays and, where used, a CT-based 3D plan. We offer Stryker Mako robotic-assisted knee replacement, which uses that plan to guide precise bone preparation and implant alignment with a soft-tissue–conscious technique. Most patients have spinal anaesthesia and a 2–3 day hospital stay.

Modern implants commonly last 15–20 years or more, depending on activity, weight and bone quality.
Most patients climb stairs comfortably; kneeling is possible but may feel different — your physiotherapy plan addresses this.
Robotic assistance improves planning precision; whether it benefits your knee is something we discuss at consultation.
